Really, everything you never wanted to know about me, but are now being forced to discover.

I'll start simply, and work up to the more complicated stuff as I move along. Step-by-step, slowly, until you'll know a lot about me, but will still not run screaming.
Yet.

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The reasons why are interestingly dramatic, but I'll save that till later.
I lived in New Zealand from the time I was about five and a half till I was fourteen, when the family moved to Blanding, Utah. I attended San Juan High School, then went to Ricks College (now BYU Idaho), in Rexburg. After that, things started to get even more entertaining.
I attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, and graduated with certificates in costume and fashion design.
Now I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, with my husband and three sons. I am a practicing agnostic (I'm practicing until I get it right), and I have delusions of writing talent.
That should do for now.

Let's just say I like shoes....

Pretty shoe.

One day, I swear, I am going to learn how to make my own shoes. It's not enough to simply shop for shoes and pick up good bargains (otherwise known as a "shopping coup"), I must have the exact shoe and/or boot I need for any given costume or ensemble. I must!

I am the type of person who is interested in everything. And when I'm interested in something, I like to learn everything I can about it. Rather than having one obsession I can pursue to my heart's content, I have many obsessions that hold my attention in a cycle of interest.

Right now, my compulsiveness induces me to closely follow the career and productions of Joss Whedon, up to and including participating in a few online forums. I will post links to those later, I swear. I'm also getting back into my costuming cycle (with the help of two books I purchased recently from Amazon to add to my costume library), and have some items planned that I hope I can actually get to before my attention turns elsewhere.

I collect Barbies, and despite having three sons and a husband, have displayed many of them prominently in the living room. This is my revenge for not being allowed to decorate in a theme of purple velvet, with ruffles.

As you can see, I make up for that horrible lack in my life here.

Things I Like

Movies:
Moulin Rouge, The Fifth Element, basically anything by Tarantino or Rodriguez (except for the kiddy stuff, which - although well-done - is kiddy stuff), Galaxy Quest, the Vacation movies, bad sci-fi as shown on the SciFi channel every single weekend all weeknend long....and many others that don't spring immediately to mind.

Music:
Synthpop, mostly, because I never grew out of my passion for eighties-type music. Then of course there's Johnny Cash, Billy Idol, and dark wave. My tastes are eclectic; more will be listed.

Food:
Despite a major appetite loss over the past year, I still experience intense cravings for a few, specific, tasty foods. Namely, Sugar House Barbecue's Carolina pulled pork sandwich with their (naturally) pig sauce.
Then there's Taste of Punjab, with their butter chicken. Their lunchtime buffet is the cheapest, and best, in town, even if it is in Sandy.
I also have to have my deep-fried, bean burritos from Taco Time. Usually they're pretty tasty (especially with guacamole and their original hot sauce - which isn't that hot and why I can eat it), although occasionally they taste as though they missed the flavour line during production.
Lastly (for now), there is chocolate. Or, as I like to pronounce it, "chockies." Plain, milk chocolate, usually. Either Cadbury or Hershey's Symphony brand. I also worship and adore Cadbury's Milky Bars, but one cannot get them in this country, because there seems to be a prejudice against white chocolate. Shame on you! (White chocolate Easter bunnies don't count, because the wax content is way too high for the white chocolate to actually have any flavour.)
